Acrylic painting WORKSHOP

Instructor: Rea Lynn de Guzman

 

Class Dates: 2 meetings / Thursdays, August 3 and 10, 2017
Class Time: 2:00pm to 5:00pm

 

In this two-day workshop, students will learn how to mix colors with acrylic paint and use acrylic mediums. The first meeting will focus on color theory. At the second meeting, students will experiment and learn different techniques with paint applications using various acrylic mediums.

INTRODUCTION TO IMAGE TRANSFERS

Step up your mixed media techniques and new layers of content to your collage and book arts projects with this introductory course to image transfers. Students will learn a variety of transfer techniques and leave with samples to take home and incorporate into their own art processes.

In this workshop, students will learn how to transfer both colored inkjet and black & white laser prints onto various surfaces including fabric and paper. The instructor will demonstrate how to prepare black & white laser prints using matte medium, how to layer surfaces with water based media, and how to transfer colored inkjet and black & white laser prints onto prepared surfaces. Students will get to experiment with these techniques in class and will leave with a small collection of samples and the ability to continue working with these processes at home.
